Healthy gums are the foundation of healthy teeth and this is where it all starts with an assessment of your gum health. Our Dental hygiene therapist and dentist will assess your gums and whether gum disease is present. They will then advise a personalised preventive plan and treatment if needed to establish the best dental and gum health you can achieve. All our patients are encouraged to visit the dental hygienist for thorough gum examination and cleaning if necessary.
Once you have reached a good level of gum health they will advise a maintenance protocol so you can keep a great level of gum health. Our general health and our gum health can change through life so we are vigilant to keep monitoring this by encouraging regular review appointments. For most this is six monthly and for those with active gum disease it may be more frequent such as three monthly. For some patients with a more resistant gum disease our hygienist and dentists will collaborate and if needed will refer for specialist care.
Our dental hygiene therapist can offer all aspects of gum care as well as other preventive care.
