At Bridgeways Dental in Southampton, we are constantly reviewing our services and prices to ensure that as many people as possible are able to receive the private dental care that they want and need.

So, the short answer to the question “can I afford private dentistry?” is yes!

We have made three important changes to help more people with the same high quality of dentistry that you have come to expect from us.

1. More applicable charges.

We have cut the cost of our routine examinations to just £37.00, which equates to over a 30% reduction. How have we been able to do this? We realise that you lead busy lives.

And as much as we love to see you, you don’t really want to see us for longer than is necessary.

The majority of our regular patients have stable, healthy mouths. We know the current level of health and we have already discussed the long-term implications and possible future dental work at your new patient consultation, or previous routine examinations.

That means that when changes are necessary, the conversation is much shorter. We plan ahead when extras such as radiographs may be needed.

If you’re ready for a change or there are significant improvements to discuss, then we will schedule further extensive consultations (which often require photographs, scans, or extra radiographs) and treatment planning appointments tailored to your individual needs.

This gives you a much more streamlined and personal service.

2. Digital dentistry evolution.

Since taking over the dental practice in 2016 we have invested heavily in improving our workflow, and a big part of that is embracing digital technology and staff training.

We use our iTero digital scanner for monitoring your dental health with baseline records, planning treatment with digital models, and fabricating your restorative work such as crowns and veneers. This means you don’t have to have sticky impressions, making your appointment more comfortable.

Importantly, it saves us the cost of expensive lab-made models, and stock. It also saves us time, resulting in quicker treatment planning, shorter appointments, and shorter overall time to complete longer treatments.

We have decided to pass all of this saving to our patients, by reviewing the prices of our treatments.

What makes this even better, is that our work is now more accurate and fits better than ever before, so it is likely to last you much longer before replacements are needed. Just think of that long-term affordability!

3. New products and services.

As well as reviewing our pricing structure for examinations and consultations, you may notice that there have been some changes to our pricing schemes for other routine dental treatments such as fillings and crowns.

We have introduced a lower tier for fillings (but don’t worry, we only use aesthetic tooth coloured fillings) for small cavities or minor repairs, reflecting the work that is required to restore your tooth.

We have also introduced a new crown, for when your tooth needs more stability than a simple filling could provide but when superior aesthetics and strength are not required. This crown is made of laboratory constructed composite resin, similar to our filling materials but pre-hardened.

This crown will not be suitable for all cases, and your dentist will always advise you of which is the best option for you.

We also offer 0% interest-free dental finance plans over 6 or 10 months for anything over £500. We will soon be introducing longer term low interest finance plans for your larger investments into your dental health, so watch this space for news and introduction dates!
