03 Apr Bridgeways Dental Renovation
When George and I first walked into Bridgeways Dental, we saw that it had a lot of potential to become the practice that we had dreamed of creating: a small, modern, bespoke practice which had a warm and welcoming feel. So many people are anxious about going to see a dentist we knew it was important to make the environment as homely and comforting as possible, whilst still retaining a professional and clean, clinical environment. Some of you may remember Bridgeways Dental as it had been for many years, complete with orange wallpaper, brown carpets, old fashioned wooden waiting room chairs and a dated fish tank, so we certainly had our work cut out to make it how we had imagined. Have a look at the pictures below to see the work in progress!
George, being a man, decided that it was my job to put the “woman’s touch” on the waiting areas, and I have to admit that renovating and decorating is something that I had little experience in. After many hours spent trawling through Pinterest and Instagram as well as interior design magazines, I had a good idea of what I wanted. The renovation process took around two months in total, these things always take much longer than you first plan for as there are always problems lurking behind the walls which need attention before you can move on, but I have to say that I am delighted with the result. Most of the work was carried out by our builder Gary and his team. The walls and ceilings were stripped and re-plastered, new LED spotlights were fitted to give a more modern touch of lighting, and a new air conditioning unit was fitted. You will be pleased to know that the fish were rehomed and one of our patients, who is an aquatic enthusiast, took the fish tank for us.
