Most small cavities can be restored using tooth coloured composite fillings but sometimes a cavity can be larger or part of the side wall of a tooth is broken away and this requires a stronger restoration. If this is the case then an onlay or inlay can be placed.

Your tooth will be prepared under magnification and then a digital impression taken that is transferred to the dental laboratory where a skilled dental technician constructs the inlay or onlay out of modern ceramic using the latest CAD/CAM technology.
