Hi, my name is Cassie and I have been working at Bridgeways Dental for a month now, and I thought it would be a nice time to introduce myself to everyone, and great to tell you how my first month has been.

I’ve been working as a dental nurse for just over 6 years, but only gained my qualification last year, as I took a break from nursing for a while in between. During my time as a dental nurse so far, I have been working in NHS practices.  I recently went on a dental implant course which got me thinking about switching over to private dentistry. This is the reason that I applied to come and join the team at Bridgeways Dental.

During my first month here have had the opportunity to assist George placing an implant and bone graft, which I really enjoyed because I love the surgical side to dentistry.

I have also had the pleasure of visiting George’s good friend Dr Bill Schaeffer at his practice “The Implant Clinic” in Brighton, where I got the chance to watch a full mouth implant treatment.

As well as watching the procedure I got to watch the lab technicians make bridges which were then later fitted onto the dental implants. I am really excited to learn more about nursing for procedures like this and am looking forward to working alongside George in more implant cases here soon.

Although I have a passion for surgical dentistry I also have the chance to work along side Casey who is not only a great general dentist but an amazing orthodontist. I haven’t had much experience in orthodontics but Casey is a great mentor and makes learning a breeze. We recently fitted two sets of braces in one morning, so I had a lot of practice!

I’m looking forward to seeing what the future looks like here at Bridgeways Dental
